Transfer: Liverpool sent a warning not to sign Mbappe

Liverpool legend, Didi Hamann has warned the Reds about signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe amid transfer rumours.

Hamann shared his reservations regarding transfer links of Mbappe to Anfield in the summer, insisting that his wages at Anfield could upset the team.

Mbappe’s current contract with PSG will expire at the end of the season.

The France captain is free to sign a pre-agreement with foreign clubs this January.

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the forward but Liverpool have also entered the fray.

“Mbappe to Liverpool? Well he could potentially sign a contract now, these are reports from France as he is out of contract in the summer.

“There are not many clubs who can afford him. You look at Real Madrid and they are the most obvious club when you look at the calibre of players they can attract, like [Zinedine] Zidane, or both Ronaldos,” Hamann told King Casino Bonus (via DAZN).

He continued, “The issue would be the wage structure as he’d come in and earn double as much as the rest of the squad and there is always a risk of upsetting the dynamics within the team.

“Having said that, he is probably the world’s best player at the moment and it would be great to see him at Liverpool.”

Mbappe came close to leaving PSG for Madrid in the past but he ended up signing a new contract to remain at the French Ligue 1 champions.
