Transfer news LIVE: Trippier and Almiron exit LATEST, Phillips concurs to West Ham deal, Chelsea about to loose Boniface battle

NEWCASTLE star Kieran Trippier will reportedly NOT be sold to Bayern Munich this month – but team-mate Miguel Almiron could be offloaded elsewhere.

Meanwhile, West Ham have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan.

Elsewhere, the Hammers are set to break their transfer record and beat Chelsea and Newcastle to the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Paris Saint-Germain loanee Xavi Simons play for RB Leipzig, according to reports.

The Dutch winger, 20, joined the German club at the beginning of the season and has impressed with seven goals and nine assists in 27 games.

Arsenal were first linked with a move for Simons last season when he enjoyed a stellar campaign with PSV.

He managed 34 goal contributions in 48 matches for the Dutch giants.

But the Gunners missed out on his signature in the summer as PSG triggered a secret transfer clause which enabled them to re-sign the player they let go in 2022 for just £5.1million.

Yet despite failing in their pursuit of him less than 12 months ago, Arsenal are ready to re-ignite their interest in the attacker.

According to HITC, they recently sent scouts to watch a number of players in the Bundesliga – one of which was Simons.

Earlier this year, SunSport revealed Mason Greenwood was set to find himself at the centre of Spanish summer transfer flurry.

The striker was loaned by United to Getafe at the start of this season – and has been in impressive form with three goals and four assists in 16 LaLiga games.

SunSport understands Valencia and Real Sociedad are both “monitoring” the England star – but Barcelona have now moved into pole position.

Our source added: “Ten Hag was always keen to keep Mason but that decision, in the end, was taken out of his hands. He’s now planning for the long term and Mason isn’t part of those plans.”

Nottingham Forest are plotting a bold move for Chelsea’s forgotten defender Trevoh Chalobah, SunSport can reveal.

The 24-year-old is still recovering from a long-term hamstring injury.

But even though he has not played for seven months, they remain keen.

Forest are ready to discuss a loan move for Chalobah.

However, because of the player’s fitness record, the loan fee would be peanuts – around the £1 million mark.

BLUE DAWN Chelsea’s forgotten man Trevoh Chalobah thrown Premier League transfer lifeline

Manchester United are keen to try and tie down Scott McTominay to a longer-term contract, SunSport understands.

The 27-year-old Scot’s deal with the club expires next summer, and he has been linked with moves to Bayern Munich and West Ham in recent months.

But despite coming close to being sold last summer, the midfielder has “won over” Erik ten Hag.

And the club are now keen to speak to McTominay about activating a clause to extend his contract by a further year.

Our source said: “Scott has turned his career around at Manchester United. He’s been one of the few bright points of a dismal season so far and has showed a new side to his game, scoring goals from midfield.

“He, along with Harry Maguire, were very close to joining other clubs in the summer.

“But now both players are seen as part of the future. The owners are very keen to invest in British players which is why Scott is likely to be offered an additional year on his current deal.”

Marseille are keen on signing Gunners outcast Nuno Tavares, according to reports.

The Ligue 1 side want to bring Tavares in immediately and Arsenal are open to a permanent sale.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the move could hinge on Nottingham Forest.

Tavares is currently on a season-long loan at The City Ground and Arsenal do NOT possess a recall clause.

Man Utd forward Mason Greenwood is edging ever closer to a summer switch to Barcelona, SunSport understands.

The Spanish giants have been monitoring the former Manchester United star all season.

And they now hope to tie up a deal soon to make him a Barcelona player in June.

Greenwood, 22, who is currently starring for Getafe on loan, has told his advisors Barcelona is a “dream move”.

Anfield bosses are looking to send Calvin Ramsay back out on loan, according to reports.

The former Aberdeen youngster spent the first half of the campaign at Preston, but only appeared twice due to injuries.

Assistant boss Pep Ljinders said: “There’s interest which is good.

“We have to find with the agent and the club the right decision for the player. He needs to have game time.”

Inter Miami are hoping to sign Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.

West Ham will not pay that much for him.

Man Utd make transfer plans

Manchester United are hoping to recoup £100million from the sales of Jadon Sancho and Antony, according to reports.

The Red Devils spent £158.5m on the two forwards – £73m on Sancho in 2021 and £85.5m on Antony 12 months later.

But the pair have been disappointing at Old Trafford, scoring 20 goals and assisting nine in 148 games between them.

Sancho, 23, has now returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the campaign.

And Antony has not registered a single goal contribution in 22 appearances this season.

According to The Evening Standard, Man Utd have now offered both Sancho and Antony to Saudi Pro League clubs.

Erik ten Hag’s men are keen to receive around £50m for each of them as incoming owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe continues to make his mark on the club’s transfer policy.

Newcastle plot Premier League raid

Newcastle are planning for life without Miguel Almiron as they have identified the winger’s potential replacement, according to reports.

The Paraguayan, 29, has started 18 of The Magpies’ 21 Premier League games this season and remains a key player in Eddie Howe’s side.

But according to The Telegraph, a switch to the Saudi Pro League is on the cards and could happen before the end of the January window.

If Newcastle hold onto him this month, it is understood clubs in the Middle East will renew their interest in the ex-Atlanta man in the summer.

And the Toon are preparing for Almiron’s exit by monitoring Nottingham Forest forward Morgan Gibbs-White.

He is currently sidelined with an abdominal injury, but Newcastle have already “scouted him extensively” earlier in the campaign.
